Pricing

2% of the project.
Nothing else.

No monthly fee, no sign-up cost, nothing to cancel. You pay when money moves, and you pay nothing when it doesn’t.

What it costs

£200 on a £10,000 job.

Taken as the job goes, not in one lump at the end. Your client pays nothing. Your trades pay nothing.

Why it’s worth it

Every builder funds the gap. The only question is how.

You buy materials and pay wages before the client pays you. That money comes from somewhere.

Wait for the client

Invoice at the end and hope.

Materials and wages come out of your pocket for weeks. If they’re slow, you chase. If they don’t pay, you’ve already spent it. And the next job waits until this one clears.

Borrow it

An overdraft or invoice finance bridges the gap.

It’s a facility to apply for, usually with a personal guarantee, and the debt sits on your name whether the client pays or not.

Run it through Cabin

Your client’s money sits with us before the work starts.

They approve a stage, the money goes out — to your trades and to you. £200 on a £10,000 job. Nothing to apply for, nothing to pay back, and no exposure if the client changes their mind.

What you get for it

The whole thing. There’s no higher tier.

The rest of it

Booking someone for a day.

Projects are 2%. Day-rate bookings work differently.

Who paysWhat forPrice
BuilderBooking someone for a day5% of the booking
HomeownerBooking someone for a day6% of the booking

TradespersonAny booking, or working on someone else’s project0%

Worked together before? If you and the other party have already finished and paid for a booking on Cabin, the next booking between you is 2.5%.

Discount codes, when we run them, come off the standard booking rate on a first booking only.

Running a project puts you on builder terms.

What you pay depends on what you’re doing on the job, not what it says on your account.

Set up the project, and you pay the project rate

It’s your client, you take their money, and you pay the other trades out of it. That’s running the job, so you pay what someone running a job pays — 2%. Doesn’t matter whether you signed up as a builder or a tradesperson.

Work on someone else’s project, and you pay nothing

Turn up, do the work, get paid. That’s free, and it stays free however many projects you work on.

Not a fee

Money that comes off, but isn’t ours.

CIS

Goes to HMRC. We just do the sums.

  • Nothing off if you’re Gross
  • 20% off if you’re registered Net
  • 30% off if HMRC can’t find you
  • Comes off labour only, never materials
  • Sent to HMRC in your name — Cabin doesn’t keep a penny of it

VAT

Yours. We collect it and hand it over.

  • Added on top if you’re VAT-registered
  • Listed on its own line on your client’s schedule
  • Comes to you in full
  • Never counted when working out CIS or what you pay us
