No platform fee on bookings. No deduction from your day rate. No cut of the money when a project pays out. You keep what you agreed, less CIS.
Get the appCabin does not. The builder pays the platform fee, the same way they would pay an agency margin — except you see the whole rate, and the deduction on your statement is CIS and nothing else.
What lands
On anything you take now, your statement shows one deduction: CIS. Statements for work before 4 August 2026 may still carry a platform fee line — that fee was removed and is no longer charged.
One thing, and it goes to HMRC.
Untouched by CIS and untouched by us.
Compliance
Cabin Technologies Ltd is the contractor of record. We are the party paying you, so the obligation is ours.
We check your status with HMRC so you are not put on the 30% unregistered rate by a contractor who could not verify you.
Materials are excluded from the calculation, as they should be. A lot of deductions get this wrong.
We calculate the deduction, record it against the right tax month, produce your statement, and file and remit to HMRC. There is nothing for you to file and nobody to chase for a statement.
A CIS deduction statement is produced after every payment and emailed to you. Your accountant gets what they need without you asking anyone for it.
The honest part
This is the one case where a tradesperson pays, and we would rather you read it here than find it later.
Working on someone else’s project costs you nothing. That is the case above, and it does not change.
Running your own project is different. If you create the project on Cabin — your client, your payment schedule, your job to pay the other trades out of it — then you’re running the job, and you pay what anyone running a job pays: 2% of the project. Your client still pays nothing.
The fee follows the role, not the account type. Full detail on the pricing page.
Put in a day rate, pick your CIS status, and see what lands in the bank — before VAT, after VAT, and after deductions.
